Glad to hear from Dubya that this will be an open bid situation w/NO favorites played. Wait this just in; the contract has been awarded. I wonder who got it? It will be a prize worth over 600 Mil.

I love my country but fear my government.

It was awarded to Bechtel Corp of San Francisco, certainly no favoritism there right? This must be a mistake CNN just reported that Bechtel has someone on the board named George Schultz. There is someone with that name who is a close confident of the "Dolt" and an extreme "HAWK". Can`t be the same guy tho. As I said a misprint. This is only the beginning friends, it`s going to get a LOT worse. BTW how ABOUT those WMD`s all over the place?

I love my country but fear my government.

Awwww, buck up little buckeroo. I'm sure that cousin Chirac and the rest of your little puss-whipe buddies will get their share of contracts. As soon as the need for shit wine and stinky cheese outweighs the re-building of infrastructure and other essential services you're fellow pacifist buddies will have free reign to offer up their "goods and services". Saddam's so-called elite forces have already shown an uncanny ability to capitulate on a large scale. And aside from their vast experience of surrender, i'm not sure what the rest of you're French friends can offer the Iraqi's right now.

What a weird thing.

Bechtel is also the parent company of Altera partners.

For those who don't know, Altera is the company in charge of the rebuilding/remodelation of the international airport in San Jose, Costa Rica.

They're having all kinds of problems with the government for not meeting deadlines and I read a few days ago they are stopping work because they don't have any money (they SAY).

Let me understand this.....

Why would any qualifying company belonging to a country that was not part of the coalition, even be CONSIDERED to bid on ANY project in Iraq?

Gosh, Im shocked that Bouygues wasn't even considered.
